Hair should be parted over the left eye and then pulled straight back into a low ponytail.  Please use a rubber band that matches your child’s hair.  No jewelry this includes ear rings, rings and necklaces.

Make-up for the stage should be applied heavily to accentuate the star’s eyes, cheeks, and lips.  Without stage make-up, your child’s face will appear bleached out and their features will by difficult to see.

Eyes:  Black eye liner for 3rd grade and up optional for younger dancers.  Blue or Green eye shadow and black mascara.

Cheeks:  Bright pink or red applied heavily to the cheeks and lightly to chin, nose, and forehead.

Lips:  Lipstick must be bright red or pink depending on the costume color.  No browns, frost or light colors.

To allow parents to enjoy the show, dressers will be provided back-stage.  If you know anybody, babysitters, older sisters, or family or friends that would be interested please let me know.  Dressers are provided to diminish the distractions to the dancers and audience.  If you feel it necessary to check on your child please do so during intermission.  For our younger stars stage fright tends to be greater when mom is around.  Moms who choose to stay with their child must stay backstage at all times

Please label all shoes, accessories and costumes with your child’s name.  Please pack extra bobby pins, lipstick, hairspray, safety pins and ponytail holders for any backstage emergencies your child might have during the show.  Please organize your child’s costumes so that they will be easily accessible to the dressers.

Videotaping and flash photography will be prohibited during the performance.  Photography will be allowed during dress rehearsal.  Your cooperation with this is appreciated, as flash photography is distracting and potentially dangerous to your dancers.

Lifetime Video of OKC is providing the recital video.  There will be an overview of the show just like the past, and he will also splice out time in-between dances.  Once again, we still have to sell 60 videos to get him to make the trip but with the positive feedback I received from the past years I know that it should not be a problem.  Download the video order form here, prices are listed on the form.
